An Act to repeal the Agricultural Charges Act.

This Act may be cited as the Agricultural Charges (Repeal) Act, 2022, and shall come into operation on such a date as the Minister may, by Order published in the Gazette, appoint.
The Agricultural Charges Act (in this Act referred to as “the repealed Act”) is hereby repealed.
3. Savings and transitional provisions Act No. 5 of 2022
(1) Notwithstanding the effect of the repeal under section 2, any subsidiary legislation made under the repealed Act shall continue to be in force and effect as if made under the provisions of the Movable Property (Security Interests) Act, to the extent that it is not inconsistent with such provisions.
(2) Any certificate, authorisation or any other documentation issued under the repealed Act shall remain valid as if made under the Movable Property (Security Interests) Act, until such certificate, authorisation or documentation ceases to be of any force either by way of cancelation, novation or otherwise.
(3) Any decisions made and any other actions lawfully taken under the repealed Act are hereby deemed to be decisions made and actions taken under the Movable Property (Security Interests) Act.
(4) Any legal proceedings which, before the repeal of the Agricultural Charges Act, were pending shall be continued or enforced in the same manner as they would have been continued or enforced before the repeal of the Agricultural Charges Act.
