    1    Batawana Tribal Territory (as defined in section 3 of the Tribal Territories Act)

    2.    Western Bamangwato Tribal Territory and Northern State lands (as defined below)-

        Commencing from the point of intersection of the 19th parallel of south latitude with the Zimbabwe border the boundary runs along the 19th parallel of south latitude to the eastern boundary of the Batawana Tribal Reserve; thence southwards along the said boundary to its point of intersection with the 21st parallel of south latitude; thence in a south-easterly direction along the south-western boundary of the Bamangwato Tribal Territory to the point of intersection of the said boundary with the 25th meridian of east longitude; thence in a north-easterly direction to the uncompleted southern end of the central Bamangwato cordon fence; thence in a north-easterly direction along the said fence to the Zimbabwe border; thence along the said border to the point of its intersection with the 19th parallel of south latitude

1.    Citation

    This Order may be cited as the Branding of Cattle (Additional Brands) Order.

2.    Registration of additional forms of brands

    The following four character combinations in the form of a square and consisting of—

    (a)    alphabetical letters only;

    (b)    three alphabetical letters and one numeral;

    (c)    two alphabetical letters and two numerals; or

    (d)    one alphabetical letter and three numerals,

are authorised to be registered as additional forms of brands to the three character brand and the AC brand.

    This Order may be cited as the Branding of Cattle (Additional Brands) Order.

2.    Additional brands

    Whenever cattle owned by the Botswana Meat Commission are allocated by the Commission to an independent grazier to be grazed, the Commission is authorised to cause to be imprinted on the cheek of such cattle the registered brand of such grazier, which brand shall be additional to the registered brand of the Commission imprinted under the provisions of section 22(1) of the Act and any zonal symbol imprinted under the provisions of section 6(1) of the Act.

1.    Citation

    These Regulations may be cited as the Branding Regulations.

2.    Fee for registration of brand

    The fee payable for the registration of a brand and the registration of the applicant as proprietor of such brand for the purposes of section 14(3) of the Act shall be P50.

3.    Fee for renewal of registration of brand

    The fee payable for the renewal or further renewal of the registration of a brand for the purposes of section 17 of the Act shall be P20.

4.    Fee for transfer of brand

    The fee payable for the registration of a person other than the proprietor of a registered brand as the proprietor of such brand for the purposes of section 20 shall be P20.

5.    Fee for duplicate

    The fee payable for the issuing of a duplicate brand certificate shall be P20.

1.    Citation

    These Regulations may be cited as the Branding of Cattle (Branding Irons) Regulations.

2.    Prohibition of manufacture, etc., of branding irons unless brand of prescribed size

    (1) No person shall manufacture, import, sell or brand cattle with, a branding iron which is not designed to imprint a brand conforming with the following specifications, namely, each symbol in the brand, or, where the brand consists of one symbol only, that symbol, shall not be more than 80 mm, nor less than 50 mm in height, and not more than 80 mm in width.

    (2) Any person who contravenes the provisions of subregulation (1) shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding P25.
