1.    Citation

    These Regulations may be cited as the Electoral (Marking of Voter) Regulations, 2024.

2.    Marking of Voter

    (1) A voter shall, in accordance with section 54(b), be marked on his hand by drawing a short line on the voter’s left thumb or left thumbnail with visible indelible ink.

    (2) Where the voter does not have a left thumb or thumbnail, or where it is not practical due to an injury, disease or other cause, to mark the left thumb or thumbnail, any of the fingers or fingernails of the voter’s left hand shall be marked.

    (3) Where the fingers or fingernails of the voter’s left hand cannot be marked due to an injury, disease or other cause, the voter’s right thumb or right thumbnail shall be marked.

    (4) Where the voter does not have a right thumb or right thumbnail, or where it is not practical due to an injury, disease or other cause, to mark the right thumb or thumbnail, any of the fingers or fingernails of the voter’s right hand shall be marked.

    (5) Where the voter does not have a hand, making it impossible to mark the hand as set out under subregulations (1), (2), (3) and (4), such voter shall choose a visible part of his body to be marked.
